I can see what the TS is saying, Overeem has only really beaten Cans thus far. Stick him up against a top notch large wrestler or grappler and I think hes got big problems.

He just has to go out and fight people before it becomes offical. Even if he is fighting cans/bums he is walking through them like nothing.
his grappling esp off his back, his cardio, his chin, his desire in tough fights, his mental toughness are all question marks and in the past weakness'. I wonder why ppl think cuz he is kicking cans constantly in MMA and barely fighting for the last few years that these weakness' have disappeared.

Its the muscles that blind ppl it seems. And No, Reem wouldnt be favorite vs Velasquez or Dos Santos and after he loses to Werdum or Barnett you will see why.

I know some will say k-1 is not mma, but he gets a high ranking from me because of k-1, also, it's not just who he's beaten of late but how he wins

so did you rank Schilt super high when he joined MMA??? He has accomplished 10x more than Overeem in k1 and i bet he could work over bums like Dufee and Rogers aswell.

Schilt #1 HW!!!

I think you haven't seen how Badr Hari knocked the Reem out under the K-1 rules?

He is good, he's a great fighter but:
1- He isn't Fedor yet,
2- He has a weakness,

3- period

Ya that is the main reason he is barely in the top 10 in a lot of peoples rankings. He hasn't beaten anybody yet. If he walks through Werdum and Bigfoot then he will be elevated in most peoples eyes.

Overeem does get a ton of crap. He has even said himself that he is not the #1 heavyweight because of the level of competiton he has fought. I see Overeem hate everywhere including on this forum.

Actually I don't. Was just out hear reading this. Watched one Strikeforce event; laughed my ass off at the production and commentators. Awful... Most could do better on local cable tv.

there is your break - a@@

G.O.A.T. not quite, Greatest of Pride. If Fedor wants to preserve his legacy and keep padding, M-1 has done a fine job since Pride and will probably continue to do so.

A good chunk of the best fighters in Pride are still fighting, many older than Fedor. If Fedor wants to pad his record maybe M-1 Global can pick them up and Fedor can just fight within M-1. They haven't been hand picking fights like Fedor and they haven't quit.

If he keeps fighting top 15ish HWs, he'll lose some more. Which typically sends shock waves of crying, bizzare and lame excuse making of his loyal fans. It might be a good way to build up the M-1 Global brand while giving Fedor more wins for his fans. Rule in M-1, or be like 2nd tier fighter in Strikeforce, even if (when) Overeem leaves.
