How would GSP have got on in Pride?

What I'm wondering is how GSP would do in Pride if it was still around today. Would the weight classes be an issue? What about the difference in rules? Would the length of the rounds make a difference? Knees to the head on the ground must surely have helped him.

I think he would of faired OK. Not sure if the length of rounds would be too much of an issue.

He would have to change his whole game or else he would get more yellow cards than Eric Cantona.

He would have been as dominant as he was in his entire career so far.

But most likely wouldn't have participated in the Open-Weight GP

GSP would have been just fine in Pride. He's active when it the top position and usually throws pretty hard. If the first BJ Penn fight were scored with Pride rules, though, he would have lost.

Would depend on the fight, I don't think he'd be anywhere near as popular. Some fights would have been yellow carded.

Think. It Ain't Illegal Yet

Whatever.. GSP is always destructive, whether in stand up or GnP, he just hasn't been able to finish the likes of Fitch, Shields, Alves and Kos (almost no one has).

Name one single fight where you think he could be yellow carded. Give me a time frame in the fight where you think he was inactive or not landing strikes and messing up his opponent's face, I will then put a link up on here for all to see and judge.

He would do fine in Pride, and would probably finish more of his fights with knees and kicks to the head.

He would have wiped the floor with everyone just like he has in the UFC.

Crazy how some people talk about his ground game like he's one of those guys who can't do anything down there an just stalls. There's a big difference between guys like Rashad Evans, King Mo, Guida etc and GSP. GSP is always effective, he just isn't good at finishing. But he does beat the snot out of whoever it is in most cases. Only against Hardy he didn't do much GnP but he was hunting a sub, only his jits wasn't up to par that night.

I can't wait till he does the same to Diaz too, it's going to be great.

Nothing would change, it's hard to predict such things when your dealing with the well-roundness that GSP has to offer.

its hard to say normally when gsp takes someone down he grabs and then explodes to near the fence. Its much different in a ring. I still think he would be great but not as great as he is in the ufc.
