FIGHT OF THE CENTURY part 2

This is awesome news! it could save the forum and the sport itself from dying of boredom this summer!

best of all JT still has his MMA coach, the legendary Trevor Sherman!

Quote:
In March of 2010, boxing legend James Toney signed a multi-fight contract to join the UFC. Fast forward just five months past his embarrassing submission loss to Randy Couture at UFC 118 and the 42-year-old was promptly let go from the world’s premier mixed martial arts show.

After a brief return to his day job this past February, which produced a unanimous decision win over Damon Reed, it appears Toney is ready to give MMA another go. According to BJPenn.com, Toney will face UFC Hall of Famer Ken Shamrock on September 23rd in El Paso, Texas.

However, MMAFighting spoke with Toney’s manager who claimed the when and the where would likely be determined this Saturday when the two camps gather to discuss the specifics.

“The earliest date as I know it would be late September, and the latest would be late October,” Trever Sherman told Fighting early Friday morning.

According to Sherman, Texas, California and Nevada are on their shortlist, with Texas emerging as the early front-runner to play host. Remaining topics on the agenda include how the scrap will be made available for viewing and whether a non-Zuffa, LLC owned MMA organization would promote the bout.

A reality series to help hype the fight is also in play…

Shamrock hasn’t fought a pro MMA match since losing to Mike Bourke at “King of the Cage: Platinum” in November 2010. The 47-year-old, who admitted to using steroids during his career, was known for his vicious heel-hook submissions during his heyday.

Sherman claims his client will be ready, so “The World’s Most Dangerous Man” better be, too.

“The takedown is Ken’s only chance,” Sherman expressed. “I respect Ken as much as I do Randy. He’s one of the reasons we have this art. But he can’t stand with James. Randy proved that. He didn’t stand with him for 10 seconds.

“No one will make that mistake. I want James to go in with hands down by his waist and dare Ken to punch with him.”

“Lights Out” owns a dominant 73-6 professional boxing record, including 3 draws and 2 no-contests. The IBF middleweight, super middleweight and cruiserweight titles have all been wrapped around Toney’s waist at one point during his illustrious career.

To be honest, I think JT has found the right opponent this time. with the wisdom and training of the great Trever Sherman he might just defeat "the worlds most dangerous man

Well he's off to a slow start but, I'm sure it will pick up as we go. JT says it's gonna be an 8 rounder....

African American Shadow Boxing TV ????

can't believe Ken gave away his only chance in the "special" rules.

The poor guy is so desperate for a decent pay check.
