Round 1 - The fighters trade punches and low kicks. With Barnett against the cage, Kharitonov unloads a nice combo from varying angles. Barnett returns fire, clinches and scores the takedown. He lands in mount. Kharitonov tries to tie him up, but a patient Barnett works to free himself. Kharitonov controls the wrists and initially avoids damage. However, he lands a few punches, avoid be bucked off, and works elbows and short hammerfists. Still, nothing substantial is landing. Barnett returns to short elbow strikes and then lands a flurry of punches as Kharitonov simply covers up. Kharitonov pulls him close and buys himself a breather. Barnett works hammerfists and looks to posture up. Kharitonov desperately tries to free himself and rolls to his knees. Barnett maintains back mount and throws more punches to the head. Kharitonov covers up to avoid anything substantial. Barnett flattens him out and delivers more punches.Barnett takes mount, secures a choke and forces the tap-out. Josh Barnett def.
