Wrestling sensation-turned-MMA hopeful Bubba Jenkins (Twitter: @2sinsurrJenkins) is anxious to begin his career, but realizes that timing is everything.
After dominating the wrestling mats for Penn State and Arizona State, the two-time All-American announced his decision to enter the sport of mixed martial arts. The 2011 NCAA Division I wrestling champion admitted that there were many factors that went into his choice to transfer to MMA, most importantly was his desire for competition.
“The money and the fact that I still wanted to compete,” Jenkins said. “I want to get a little more out of my athleticism and achieve more. I felt like I have achieved everything I wanted to in wrestling and MMA is next big thing to challenge myself in. I felt like it was time to jump in before I get left behind.”
