Fedor will not retire, will probably fight in Russia and Japan
Quote:
We consulted with Fedor and it was decided that he should not leave the sport in this way. His friends and past opponents support Fedor in continuing his career and he agreed,” säger Finkelstein. “We want to organize a fight for Fedor in Russia and have already begun working in this direction. If everything goes as planned, we will produce a card in Moscow or St. Petersburg sometime in the fall with Fedor as the main event.”
“In addition to the fight in Russia, we’re also working with our Japanese contacts to organize a New Year’s Eve event in Japan that Fedor would participate in as well. If all is successful, in 2012 we’ll be back in the U.S. All these ideas are being developed right now and we want to work exactly according to this plan.

He'll be fighting a can without a doubt, don't worry. At least Fedor will get his payday on New Years, in the land of the rising dive.

If M1 really wanted to do something they would have him fight reem and offer reem a lot of money to throw the fight.

He'll probably be facing a can or another former champion who's way past his prime (like Rizzo)... perhaps, a couple of meaningless victories is exactly what awaits us.

If we are talking about Russia we are talking about M-1 Global where they will brobably throw him a can, maybe their heavyweight champion. The New Years Eve event I can see happening against Overeem with Dream. Also if Fedor returns it will probably be one of M-1 Global's Showtime events.

I don't consider Gugenishvili a can, 11-0 with 10 subs. Sure, the competition he has faced so far is nothing special but he is not that bad.
