Losing 3 in a row and more importantly costing an arm an a leg to do so. Sure if Fedor was making them money it might be different but all he did was help put the nail in another MMA companies coffin.

Yeah, that is a good point. His management made huge demands because of his mystique. Once it was gone he cost too much.

That's the fight game for you. One minute your on top of the world. Then all of a sudden your yesterday's news. Sad but that is the way it is.

Well it's not like he is completely done. He obviously still has a home in M-1 Global. Though he will probably not get huge paydays.

Fedor is past his prime physically. He can't be quicker than everyone else any more. He's going against giant heavyweights who are more in shape than he is. The biggest beating he took was against Antonio silva. I think werdum got lucky as did Hendo, but neither of those guys are built like Silva. Fedor is still a great fighter, he's just going to be like Igor vovchanchyn, and lose some more fights and pass away into the history books. When Fedor was 26 years old he was the best fighter in the world and could beat anyone. Now he is 33 years old. You change as you get older. Sometimes brains dont win over brawn.

He didn't reivent himself or improve to beat the newer breed, and paid the price. I'm sure if someone wanted to stand and bang with Fedor then he'd do just fine (apart from guys called Hendo), but he's not going to get those 'gimme' fights at the top of the food-chain.

I still think he would destroy Werdum in a rematch. Silva was a really bad match up for him, hell, the dude is a bad match up for anyone under 260 lbs. without a solid ground game. He got stupid against Hendo. Hendo has one of the top five chins in mma history and Fedor got over anxious. I dont think Fedors skills have diminished that much, I just think he has fought two of the best fighters in his career and made one very stupid mistake against Werdum. Not trying to defend Fedors losses, Im actually one of the people that has always believed he was overrated.

The fact of the matter is that the Werdum match was a combination of two things. Werdum got lucky and Fedor got overconfident. I agree that more then likely Fedor would destroy Werdum in a rematch.

It's funny and sad at the same time to think a year ago he was considered the best in the world now he isn't even ranked and basically can't fight in the US anymore.
He must be depressed and embarrassed like hell.

It's not that he can't fight in the US anymore, he just can't get a big payroll. Bellator, Shark Fights and Titan won't give him millions in payroll. Though he can get back into the top ten I think.
