Keith Jardine returns in December, headed to 185.

"The Dean of Mean" apparently is returning to the Strikeforce scene.
Keith Jardine (17-9-2 MMA, 0-0-1 SF) recently announced via Twitter that he expects to compete on December's currently unannounced Strikeforce card.
No details about his contract or opponent were disclosed, and officials haven't formally announced his the booking.
As MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) recently reported, the Dec. 17 card is expected to feature a lightweight title fight between champion Gilbert Melendez and Jorge Masvidal.
Jardine, who's perhaps best known for his appearance on "The Ultimate Fighter 2" and subsequent 12-fight stint in the UFC, hasn't competed since an April draw with light heavyweight Gegard Mousasi at "Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley." Jardine took the fight on late notice as a replacement for injured Mike Kyle, and his status with the organization wasn't clear after the fight.
Now, Jardine said he's heading to middleweight and has employed the services of noted nutritionist Mike Dolce to help with the drop.
The UFC released the heavy-handed Jardine in 2010 after four straight losses. He then suffered a split-decision defeat to Trevor Prangley at Shark Fights 13. Jardine, though, is undefeated in his three fights since then with wins over Francisco France and Aron Lofton in regional competition and the Strikeforce draw with Mousasi

Good deal, I'm a big Jardine fan just hope he's got a little bit more left in him.

No idea how he'll make the cut seeing how huge he is. Good luck to him anyway.

That would be awesome but fortunately everybody has seemed to forget about this fight and recognize Mousasi was the winner.

Well if Strikeforce matchmakers didn't put it together they didn't put it together. A rematch is never automatic even in a draw. The high profile ones are the ones that take place.

Yeah, in the Ultimate Fighter he was a heavyweight around 215-220. How does he expect to cut down to middleweight? He ain't no Silva!

220 at HW is pretty rare, most 220ies simply fight at LHW. Had there been LHWs in that season aswell Jardine likely would have fought at LHW already int he show.
I doubt it'll be that huge effort for him to drop to MW if he is really serious about it. I got no idea how much he cuts currently for his LHW fights (I assume it is still around that 215-220), but I don't think he is that much bigger than say... Hendo who makes MW just fine aswell.

Yeah, but Randy Couture was only able to fight at that weight cause he was an exceptional fighter. Also remember that Forrest Griffin cuts weight well above 230 which is a little crazy. He could very well be a heavyweight but that's his choice.
