Brett Rogers vs. Eddie Sanchez headlines Titan Fighting Championship 20

Quote:
Heavyweight waste of space Brett Rogers (11-3) looks to get back on the winning track on Sept. 23, when he meets six-time UFC veteran Eddie Sanchez (12-5) in the headlining bout of Titan Fighting Championship 20.

Rogers revealed the booking on Friday's new edition of HDNet's "Inside MMA," and Titan Fighting Championship officials this morning confirmed the bout.

Titan Fighting Championship 20 takes place at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kan., and the night's main card airs on HDNet.

Jamie Varner vs. Alonzo Martinez was expected to headline the event but will now take co-feature status.

"The goal of Titan since we became partners with HDNet was to put on exciting fights," Titan CEO Joe Kelly stated. "A double-header featuring Rogers vs. Sanchez and former WEC lightweight world champion Jamie Varner vs. Alonzo Martinez promises to be one of our best shows to date."

After opening his career a perfect 11-0, the 6-foot-5 Rogers has struggled through a 1-3 stretch in his past four fights. Of course, the losses have come to heavyweight greats Josh Barnett, Alistair Overeem and Fedor Emelianenko.

Recently, Rogers made headlines with a June arrest following an alleged altercation with his wife in Apple Valley, Minn. However, "The Grim" has maintained his innocence throughout the ongoing proceedings.

Meanwhile, Sanchez is also looking to get back in the win column. Perhaps best known for a 3-3 stint in the UFC's octagon, Sanchez has since fought three times under the Bellator Fighting Championships banner, as well. He notched four-straight wins following his UFC release but has since dropped two-consecutive fights to Mike Whitehead and Neil Grove.

"Brett has made a lot of changes in recent months, and it will be exciting to see how much of a difference they've made in Brett's game," Kelly stated. "But Eddie Sanchez is not exactly the type of fight you want to walk into when you're looking to make sure your comeback starts off the right way. This one has slugfest written all over it."

Sanchez is coming off two loses, but would love to see him beat Rogers.

.

Can't believe this bum defeated Arlovksi. He was pretty much a useless ragdoll against Barnett and Overeem.

I have seen it. It was a nice change to see Arlovski dominate. The takedowns were my favorite part, Arlovski pretty much landing to mount like the other guy hadn't heard about wrestling at all. Too bad it took him 3 round to finish it though.

Should be a fun fight on paper. Similar fighters, both were 6-0 when they got their shot in UFC/EliteXC, and have since gone massivly downhill lol.

I think Rogers is slightly less average than Sanchez, and he'll take a TKO win.
