The Maga-Plata

Anyone remember Vinny Magalhães? Well here's his latest victory, by way of inverted gogoplata! Pretty snazzy!

I do like Vinny, mainly because I am a big BJJ fan, but this move is called the AokiPlata!

When Aoki does it, sure. Maga-plata is more fitting in this case

I like to keep the technique named after the first person that did it in an MMA competition!

Kind of a dick about it though huh? Looked like after the guy tapped and the ref told him to break he held on an extra second or two. Maybe it was just the angle from the camera and he had released. Nice sub though.

Na I think it's the angle, he probably takes all of the pressure from his leg off the throat, and just gets excited and screams. He doesn't seem to hold on at all. Remember his leg is on the guys throat, he has to be careful and can't just jump off of him.

Nice move! Eddie Bravo also teaches it in his "Mastering the Rubber Guard" DVD.
