Has Pat Healy finally put his game together??

He's looked excellent in his last few fights. He's won 6 of his last 7.

Defeating Lyle Beerbohm was big. Beerbohm was undefeated and on the cusp of a title shot. Now he put a stop to Blancos six fight streak.

Healy is a veteran with sick subs. He's always had the potential to be a top level fighter check his victories over Carlos Condit, Dan Hardy, and Paul Daley... but his carreer was patchy in his first few years of competitions.

From 2001 - 2006 it looks as if he was hit and miss. but from there on he's had some pretty impressive fights and wins. Maybe he had to fine tune his game or his experience and work in the gym is paying off..

What to you guys think?

He was getting tooled by a much smaller fighter and won only after blanco gassed himself out beating Healy's ass.

That was his experience paying off. He continued to grind on Blanco to assist in that gas out. Than he isolated the arm and flipped and choked.

That victory was not a given.

He's not top ten or anything like that but that was a very cool finish, he had him a RNC from the crucifix.

I do think Blanco gassing out contributed a lot to this though, had he toned down the flashy shit he might have had some more left in the tank but he had to finish otherwise it would have been a draw.

Blanco has a cardio issue he would have been gassed out in the third regardless and Healy was carrying his weight for like 85% of the grappling exchanges most of which Blanco initiated. It doesn't speak well of a guy to be primarily a grappler and get out grappled by the much smaller man for the majority of the fight. Healy also has cardio issues at 155 because of the ridiculous cut he makes he just isn't nearly as bad as Blanco who gasses himself out in 2 rounds striking from the outside.

I think he might have had in him the first if he didn't get kicked in the face. In any case he went up in my book for not taking the easy win.
