StrikeForce: Barnett vs. Kharitonov medical suspensions

Quote:
The Ohio Athletic Commission issued mandatory medical suspensions to four fighters, including co-headliner Antonio Silva, from this past weekend's "Strikeforce Grand Prix: Barnett vs. Kharitonov" event.

MMAjunkie.com today obtained the list of suspensions from the OAC.

No suspension lasts longer than 60 days.

"Strikeforce Grand Prix: Barnett vs. Kharitonov" took place this past Saturday, Sept. 10, at Cincinnati's U.S. Bank Arena. The night's main card aired on Showtime, and the preliminary card aired on HDNet.

All of the suspensions were issued to fighters who suffered knockout losses. The precautionary layoffs range from 30 days to 60 days.

They included:
Antonio Silva: Suspended 60 days due to KO loss/for precautionary reasons
Yoel Romero: Suspended 60 days due to KO loss/for precautionary reasons
Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos: Suspended 30 days due to KO loss/for precautionary reasons
Amanda Nunes: Suspended 30 days due to KO loss/for precautionary reasons

Although not officially suspended, co-main-event winner and grand-prix finalist Daniel Cormier also faces a likely layoff. The fighter injured his hand during his win over Silva, and he has planned to get X-rays to determine the extent of the damage. The finale of the grand prix, which is slated for early 2012, hinges on his recovery.

I read that Coker was willing to replace Cormier, shouldn't he recover in time. If that's the case then i hope they cancel the whole thing, what a load of crap.

With their puddle of talent it's not sensible to replace Cormier, just for the sake of preserving the match as a GP final. It's all a farce anyway to build hype. Waiting for Cormier to recover is the only solution to keep people content, even if we have to wait

LOL

Barnett vs Griggs or Rosario for the most overated and useless title ever handed out by an MMA organization...

Strikeforce is such a joke, I can't believe Zuffa is holding onto them for now because they seriously do more damage to this sport then good...

1)Shane Del Rosario is still recovering from a car accident

2)Chad Griggs hasnt gotten enough wins (consecutive or otherwise) to be a contender. Only "profile" win was over Lashley

3)Hershel Walker is still relatively green

wtf is Coker sniffin (pun maybe intended)

It make no sense to replace cormier at this point.

If they indeed replace him, this so call Grand Prix will lose all its meaning.
