Women's MMA?
I read on another MMA forum that Dana recently ruled out having a UFC women's division, or anything like that. The posters their were pretty divided.
What does everyone here think? Should women participate in competitive combat such as in MMA events? Personally, I think women fighting and breaking each others' faces would be an abomination and am really against it.

Why shouldn't they? An abomination? Someone pass me what ever he's smoking. I think some of your posts are abomination.
Sure. If woman wanna fight, let them. Who am I to tell people what they can and can't do. I don't see why Dana didn't do this, seeing as he likes to appeal for middle aged drunk mofos.

Hell yeah they should be able to fight! The only thing that made EliteXC worth watching was Gina Carano vs. Julie Kedzie. That fight overshadowed the main event which was crap.

You guys are nuts, haha. You'd honestly have no problems if UFC started adding fights between chicks (obviously at the cost of fewer men's fights)? Chicks fighting on the streets is okay, but it's mainly because they shreek at each other, pull hair, etc. As far as serious fighting go, the skills/athleticism of women relative to men is a joke, and wouldn't be worth fighting imo.

I completely agree. Gina Carano is a one hit wonder, not many are going to look as hot as her.
Most women who fight are ugly. Their skill is a not comparable to men's MMA. So why bother?

I think its more like girls wanna show up guys and try to hold their own. Though some of them can its not a majority, if they want to be agressive and break their pretty faces let them- their decision.

Who cares if the girl is hot or not? I don't, woman are very exciting fighters most of the time, I don't mind it atall.
Also, for you people saying they can't hang with the men, I train with woman all the time and damn right can they hang with us. They can be very rough.

Those who don't want women to fight have just given chauvinistic sexist reasons. Who the hell cares if a woman is hot or not, that is something that I'd expect a pro-wrestling fan to say where most things are based on looks and not talent. If a woman wants to fight, let her. Also, if woman can be in military combat situations (such as the Army) then I think they'd be able to handle MMA fighting.

First, while some girls fight like that, don't you think the ones who would train everyday wouldn't just "forget" their training and revert to this state of fighting. This isn't pro-wrestling. Also, some of the arts used in MMA don't require extreme athleticism (such as BJJ and Judo) where somebody relatively weak can still have a chance if they have proper technique (they won't always win but they won't always lose). Women wouldn't be fighting men so the comparison between the athleticism of men and women isn't worth anything. As long as the two women fighting are close matched (skill and all) then there wouldn't be really any difference than the men. The problem is that, at first, the women fighters may not be equally matched so there is one dominating the other and that just wouldn't be fun to watch over and over again. Once women's MMA would become more popular and more women training in it, then I think the matches would be more interesting and fairly matched.

...that makes it very hard for me, an MMA fan, to take you guys seriously. Mainly because you have no real legimate reason why thier shouldn't be womens MMA. Since when does having good looks a requirement for MMA fighters? Do any of you guys have a REAL GOOD reason why thier shouldn't be women's MMA?
