Do you prefer the Ring or the Cage?

Which ring do you think is more exciting to watch fights in? The good old fashion ring like Pride has or the cage like the UFC and King of the Cage has? Whats your poison?

You forget that this isn't just some brutal sport where everyones out to kill each other. Its much more like a game of physical chess.-looney liam

I love the cage/octogon. I have a few DVDs of KOTC (some of the fights on the DVD are in a cage and some are in a ring) and I've seen some Pride events and while it is easy to see through I hate the fact that if the two fighters are on the ground and they get too close to the end of the ring so the ref stands the two fighters up and moves them to the center. I just find that so irritating, and that is the main reason why I like the cage/octogon compared to the ring.

Got to be the octogon/cage. As said above, when they get to the ropes they often get moved, and a few fighters will work to the outside to stop getting hit.

The cage rules all, the ring is for stand up fighting only.

I have to say that I prefer the cage. It never feels good to get slammed into that thing

Ring. Cage can be used as a weapon/tool. It's much harder to do that in the ropes.

I like the ring, simply because of the size. There isn't as much of the feeling out process in the ring because there's not near as much movement room. The octagon looks like an ocean compared to PRIDE's ring. The only thing i wish would change, they should stop the time when moving fighters away from the ropes. It gives the fighter's a break and in alot of cases, the round ends while the fighters are being moved.

I like both for different reasons.. as said the ring is better for strikers becasue when grapplers get close to the edge of the ring it is moved or stood up. But the cage can also cause injury that is not caused by the fighter. I like both personally.
