Tim Sylvia/Andrei Arlovski IV is going down this November

First off, I would like to point out that everything is cooler when Roman numerals are used. It adds a certain element of drama and panache that only those hard partying Romans could come up with. Knowing Roman numerals also make you feel like you are part of an exclusive club that is completely pointless this day in age outside of marketing sequels. I learned the ways of the Roman numeral extensively in Catholic school coupled with a bit of Latin. Learning a dead language and a numerical system no longer used as the public school kids enjoyed their fancy 486's while I worked on an Apple II. Thanks for paying the big bucks for my education Dad. Oh well, eventus stultorum magister.

CagePotato is reporting that Tim Sylvia and Andrei Arlovski will be meeting for a fourth time this November 5th in Moline, Illinois under the Pro Elite banner. Yes, the Moline, Illinois that hosted the Black Hawk war of 1832. You had that right, grappler. Here's what CagePotato had to say about this forthcoming matchup:

"CagePotato.com has learned that ProElite’s second show under its new ownership and management will happen November 5 at the iWireless Center in Moline, Illinois. Although no announcements have been made regarding the event, which is tentatively dubbed “ProElite II” or the show’s fight card, there is strong indication that the promotion is working on a fourth meeting between former UFC heavyweight champions Tim Sylvia (29-7) and Andrei Arlovski (16-9) and that the bout could be the main event."

Well that is pretty darn exciting. I will have to make the drive out to Moline a few days early to check out the John Deere facility and take a water taxi somewhere.

Possibly overkill, but i dont mind the fight. Hope Arlovski can finally get some momentum going, heart breaking to see how distraught he was after all those KOs.

I can already hear the chant of 'WHO CARES?'. Seriously, why are these two even fighting each other? Other than name recognition wouldn't it be smarter to keep fighting nobodies and get on a winning streak and try to use that to get into a bigger org?

Awesome news. Not everybody is a contender and i seriously doubt if they get back to the UFC. Fun matchup and brings back some memories of the older day's.

Edit: In what weight class are they meeting? Sylvia is far from 265.

I'm a big fan of Arlovski.

Hopefully he can break even with the self-proclaimed "legend."

Same here, i hope Arlovski takes this one.

Sylvia still remains a big name in MMA and he was a big figure in the earlier day's. His recent shape, losses to Mercer and Wagner have completely wiped out any memories of him.

I hope Arlovski takes it because he is still hungry and wants to be competitive in the worst way while Sylvia has quit trying and is just mailing it in for a paycheck.

I think that if Arlovski comes in with a Greg Jackson gameplan and in shape, he should do just fine. Arlovski's problems have always been his chin, and his inability to stick to a gameplan. He has the skill, he just needs to learn how to utilize it properly. He would have been the first person to legitimately beaten Fedor until he decided to jump for a flying knee. He always does pretty well until he decides to abandon his gameplan. I think these four KO losses have shown him that he needs to seriously alter how he fights. Rashad doesn't have a great chin, but he's smart, and protects it well. Arlovski could learn from his training buddy.
