Kenny Garner vs. Maxim Grishin - Round 1 - Garner storms forward and lands a few punches and now leans on Garner against the ropes. Big spunches to the body in the clinch by Garner. Garner is getting more and more wild and is tiring out. Right hand by Garner. Grishin fakes a takedown, gets Garner to move and, does nothing. Takedown into side control by Garner. Garner almost gets armlocked as the round ends. 10-9 Garner.

Round 2 - Grishin with a push kick. Garner pushing forward and getting a body lock. Grishin looking for a takedown and can't get it. Garner throws a right hand and Grishin ducks under. Garner finally gets a takedown and he's in Grishin's full guard. Garner stands up and as the ref tells Grishin to get up he has trouble getting to his feet. Garner with a flurry of slow arm punches. Grishin with a takedown, stands up after taking some punches and a step through pass to side control. Grishin now into mount. Grishin with an armbar attempt but time runs out. 10-9 Grishin.

Round 3 - Right into the clinch against the ropes. Body shots by Garner and now Grishin with a takeown. Garner ducks out between the ropes and they're stood back up. That's garbage, don't restart them standing for a guy running from the fight. Left hand by Grishin lands. Now Garner landing out of nowhere. Grishin looks for the takedown and can't get it. Left hook, right hand by Garner. Grishin with a failed takedown and he falls to his back. Garner gets on top and both guys are exhausted. Grishin with a simple sit up and twist sweep. Garner is on top now after a sweep of his own. Upkick by Grishin was illegal as Garner was still down. Both guys slowly climb to their feet. The ref calls for time, they continue the clock anyway, Grishin looks exhausted as he leans on the ropes, now there's loose tape but the timekeeper ends the round despite time not being restarted. Whatever. 10-9...um...Garner?

Round 4 - They start the round and Grishin's corner is still in the ring wiping up water, now Grishin flops to his back. Garner is on top in side control and Grishin scoots out under the ropes and as the referee tells them to restart Grishin barely gets to his feet. This time the ref restarts them in the position they were in, which they didn't do last time when it was Garner who scooted under the ropes. Garner makes Grishin stand back up. Grishin flailing his arms at Garner. This is a miserable fight. Grishin with a takedown, Garner reverses position to near zero resistance. Garner drops a big right hand. Grishin looks for a leg, then a sweep but is right back on his back. Garner makes him stand up. Body shot by Garner, Grishin goes down. Garner tries to throw punches and Grishin scoots out of the ropes and gets a restart after slowly getting to his feet. "Knock him out" chants from the crowd. Round ends. 10-6 for Garner. My card doesn't count, so I'm deducting 3 points from Grishin since he should have lost but scooted out of the ropes to avoid the TKO.

Round 5 - Early in the round Garner sticks his head in a choke and Grishin tries to finish but slips off. Each body shot by Garner in the clinch is making Grishin wince. Grishin with a body lock and he can't get the takedown. They go to the ground and Grishin locks in an armbar! Garner survives but Grishin to a triangle choke and it's deep! Garner stacks him and passes. Now Garner is in side control throwing punches and Grishin taps? I guess? The rep, tapping his hands to make it clear. Showtime tells me there was a tap. Okay, whatever. Worst fight of the year. Kenny Garner wins by submission (exhaustion/strikes), round 5.
