Very well written article - maybe the title will cause a stir, but there is lots of truth within.
As for the disrespect, (going with the examples in the article) is it any coincidence that Bisping showed a total lack of respect against Rivera, and then continued this on TUF14? To be fair, the spitting was 100x worse than anything that has happened on any season of TUF. TUF is made for TV, and needs the "drama" (pranks, etc) to fill time, and gain "interest" while on cable TV. The show could probably be made to fit a 30 minute time-slot if they reduced it to a few minutes of training and the actual fights. Add to that, Bisping is simply a disrespectful person, and comes from a boxing background - not a traditional martial art.
Similar things can be said of Diaz, except he does practice BJJ - a more traditional martial art, but he lacks the traditional values of a practitioner. He's simply a disrespectful person, and seems to only be in the sport for money.
Unfortunately, I think this trend will only increase as the UFC gains popularity, and continues to push the boundaries to attract new fans.
