Are UFC fighters allowed to use burned cd's for their entrance or do they have to have a bought cd album?

I think they just pick a song and the UFC uses it.

The fighter tells UFC want he wants to use - then UFC secures a one-night right to use it...

That's also why the music is edited out in many replays and DVD's...

Also, the fighter does not just bring a CD even if UFC has the rights to the song he wants to use... UFC has to make sure it's censored and good enough quality

Thanks. I was wondering about the rights thing, hence the burned cd question. How do they get the rights? And can the fighter just ask for any song he wants from any album?

The way anybody would get a hold of rights for music - contact the publisher and talk to them... And yes, in theory they can get any song from any album - though big names cost alot more than smaller names, and I have no idea if UFC limit some of their fighters because of that

Thanks again.. Just to round it up, do you possibly know if the UFC already have songs for the fighter to chose from?

No they don't have a library since they only buy the rights for one night only...

Step 1: Fighter requests song

Step 2: UFC approves song

Step 3: UFC gets a one night only right to use said song

Step 4: Fighter walks out

Yeah but if the fighter wants to keep using the same song then they probably can get the rights for further fights instead of repeting the process or something like that?

Also i heard that when its live then UFC dosent need rights (only on tv replays and dvds) so any song can be played live. Are you sure its not like that, beacuse if it is, then theres where i was wondering if the cds fighters bring can be burned or have to be bought.

I've told you all you know and you would have a better chance at getting information by asking somebody in the UFC or a publisher because nobody outside of those places knows this stuff for sure...

And seriously - why does it matter?
