Strikeforce is going to be around on Showtime for at least this next year. From the looks of it I think ShoMMA is going away. Either these guys are going to stay where they are or they will go to the UFC overtime.

Can we just fold Strikeforce already and bring the good fighters to the UFC while the bad ones are left unemployed? Talk about wasting everybody's time...

What are you talking about?

Zuffa needs Striforce.
They can't just go out and buy a new company every other 3 years.
There are more and more new talent out there and the UFC alone can't hold all that talent.
Keeping Strikeforce is a great market strategy, they'll be able to absorb the incoming talent, keep the UFc talent on losing strikes and at the same time, they are not giving away "room for other company's to grow.

Honestly I can see both sides of the argument for folding Strikeforce. As has happened in the past it makes sense to import the good fighters into the UFC. Then on the other hand it makes sense to keep Strikeforce as a kind've feeder promotion.

You are a terrible business person then. I'd close Target and fire all the employees and make everyone shop at Walmart, same overhead cost as before but twice as many customers means more money. Keeping both open would mean you are competing with yourself with the added cost of the extra employees.

Which I am surprised UFC isn't doing this, make UFC the only game in town, and keep Strikeforce the minor league.

Well if you think about it that's what they did with the WEC for a while. But you have to remember that Strikeforce has a women's division and the UFC does not. It's like when the WEC had bantemweight and featherweight and the UFC didn't.

He's probably contractually obligated to stay in SF just like every other fighter in any somewhat major organization is contractually obligated to stay in their respective league. Not sure of the context in all honesty, but that's what it sounds like to me.

Well you are possibly right. It is possible that maybe after his contract is fullfilled he'll get a shot at the UFC. More than likely that's how it's going to be with most of the major fighters.
