Remembering John Lewis

Most people only know him as Chuck Liddell's BJJ coach.

I was just watching some old John Lewis fights and remembering when I personally thought he was the scariest fighter in the sport.

This was back in the day when the sport was new and shocking and made you feel like you were watching something you shouldn't.

John had a style that seemed vicious, almost sadistic. If he got a fighters back it was over. Sometimes they would give him the choke to avoid those horrible elbow strikes to the spine.

I remember that I was actually afraid for Jens Pulver's safety when they fought.

Of course, jens KO'd him in a few seconds shattering his jaw and he never fought again.

He was a scary man in the day.

I see a lot of talk on the forum about fighters legacies. Well, here's a guy who should have one. And this is about all that %99.9 of fighters can expect 12 years later...

John who??
