yea, it was one of those fights where the momentum goes back and forth and both fighters were impressive. It's been a little while, but I'm pretty sure Lawler was winning on points at the time.

Ahhh, I don't agree with that. I think Smith was winning definitely and by far at the point it got stopped, he had caught Lawler with a few really heavy punches in the couple minutes before it got stopped and had him stunned a couple of times. That's the reason I got so pissed when it got stopped like it did, Smith was looking real good when it ended, definitely the closest he'd been to a knockout all night, and he even said in the post-fight interview that he wants the rematch but probably won't get in as good of an opportunity for winning as he was in that one.

In summation, I'm putting my points on Smith even though it's going to be hard for him to win this one, he has the potential as shown in the Drago fight so I hope he gets that one good one to end this fight.

Also, it didn't end in a cut. Robbie Lawler threw a horizontal spread hand straight into Smith's face with his finger going completely in his eye, Smith couldn't see out of that eye afterwards so they stopped it. The "eye poke" looked just like an open palm block but it was horizontal thus the controversy, as a straight punch to that type of block would result in atleast a couple of broken fingers.

Lawler was ahead in points. I think the breakdown has already been posted here somewhere before. But you're definitely right about Smith coming strong towards the end of the fight. Neither one of these guys knows the definition of quitting, so I'm expecting a VERY exciting fight.

I placed a safe bet on Lawler this time around.

I put 20k on Robbie and I knew he would win. Before the eye poke in the last fight I thought Robbie had him on the way out. Also, Robbie finished the second fight with kicks to the body to a grounded opponent which is something I'd like to see more of in MMA bouts. Scott did well though, I give him respect for both fights.
