Crop your pictures to make them more interesting. Whenever possible, make the fighters eyes look inside the sig instead of outside.

#1 Use smudging more than brushing, in fact, only use the brushes that come standard with PS.

#2 Play around with your brush settings, its the best way to get cool effects especially when smudging(Jitter and all those).

Favorite Fighters: Fedor, Karo Parisyan, Nate Marquardt, Demian Maia and now Jon Jones

layer mask works wonders

here is a VERY easy tutorial on using layer mask and blurring

Don't depend so much on tutorials. Play around with all the features yourself. It really makes your work more unique.

Always go from big to small. Stretching an image will distort it's quality. But going down in size will retain quality, and at times make it even better.

Also hold the shift key when you do it so it keeps it's proportions.
