I thought we could start a thread to help each other out with tips. Post a 1 Sentence graphics related tip that you think could help others. Im sure we can all learn from each other.

Layers are your friend. Use them for everything you add to your piece and name them!

Don't use a lot of brushes. Smudging and blending look a lot better.

Another tip...

Always add a border, sigs don't look complete without borders.

Here is another:


When resizing images, smaller is good, bigger is bad. Everytime you make your image bigger, photoshop needs to regenerate the missing pixels and you lose quality.

I don't have a tut but I can give an example.

Use a soft 200px round brush in white to lighten areas or black to darken areas. Play around with the settings (lighten, overlay, soft light etc) to get it to look good.
