Best takedowns against a good striker

Together with friends I have recently started an MMA club that consist of : a BJJ instructor, a wrestling instructor, a boxing instructor with a very good amateur record, and about 20 members but expanding. We practice a lot on takedowns. In my opinion, for taking down a good boxer, double leg or single leg takedowns work much better compared to other takedowns. I feel that when you go lower you are more out of his reach. But that is my opinion.

A boxer and a "striker" (in regards to MMA) are completely different.

Why not look into getting a hold of a Kickboker or Muay Thai trainer?

Of course, boxer is just an example of a striker.

This we didn't find yet, but the club has just started.
I hope we can find one to make it complete.
We are tired of traditional styles but i noticed that sometimes it's difficult to find new instructors who want to leave their own traditional style where they are good, where they are the best of their team or the highest belt, and bring them into an MMA club where they have to take a step back themselves. I know many instructors, but it seems to me a lot of people are so comfortable with their own style, it seems to be difficult for them to join another club where other people have other techniques. I see this very often.

Well you said single leg and double legs work better than other takedowns vs boxers, whereas vs a muay thai striker you might think differently (i.e. you get kneed in the face when you shoot)

Kick and thaiboxing was the first style I practiced, but I stopped after 3 years.
I remember that the knees are dangerous.
This is the hard part for the grappler, isn't it.
I think the most difficult is to see if your opponent has good kicks and all to decide if you go for a leg or to grap his neck and clinch.
This is very hard because you only have a few seconds to decide how you will shoot.
Once you start to doubt, you could loose lol

i think if you are good at takedowns then the real problem is nullifying the striking ability. most takedowns can be worked out of the clinch, any type of clinch, so the best takedown would be one from the clinch. also throws would make it easier to avoid knees. greco roman wrestling and judo of course are good for that. so i would say close takedowns work the best things that close the distance and either nullify or minimize the effectiveness of knees kicks and punches.
