Ive been in wrestleing for 6 years now just got done with the season. really all there is to it is practice practice practice. you can never say it enough. everyone hates drilling but its one of the best things for you and your technuiqe. if your just looking for a better shot all you have to do is shoot all the time. before you go to bed practice shooting try it a hundred times, and do it right, cuz if you practice it wrong youll do it wrong in a match. step with your lead leg and the knee right over your foot (given) but most important of all keep your eyes and head up. never put your head down.
Also you shot can be perfect or at least really good and it still wont help you if you dont have a SET UP. you need to make an opening for you shot. this you should practice with somone to get the feel for it but if theres noone to practice with then the next best thing is pretending someones there. it may sound stupid but the more you think about it the better youll be able to remeber it in a match.(in school i just write in a note book, i break down the move and right it step for step over and over that way it sticks in my mind. Just a few setups are: drag byes, baseball grips(i love those), snap the head and go. those are the ones i usually use. find a couple good set ups you feel comfortalble with.
The stuff i just sayed was some of the most basic things but with out them your take downs will not come often. i focused on that stuff this year and my take downs got a lot better.
i dont know how big you school is but it sounds like theres a big line up to crack. but the harder you work the better you become. make shure your doing running outside of school and even wrestling someone like your little brother is better than nothing and is going to help. any way good luck and i hope this helped
