Even in MMA bouts I have a hard time believing that a striker is more intimidating.
Yeah, he can KO you, giving you a concussion and/or an injury like the one Gonzaga gave to CroCop, but for every shot like that there are a handful of injuries like Frank Mir breaking Sylvia's arm, and that required serious surgery.
Yes, you can tap out against a grappler, but there's always that thought in teh back of alot of fighters minds (especially if it's happened to you before) going: What if I don't tap out quick if he locks on the armbar?
A concussion usually costs you 6 weeks of no full-contact sparring, a broken arm costs you a month of training completely and even longer before you get in good enough shape to fight again. A broken neck can cost you your life.
All I'm saying is be intimidated by the caliber of the opponent, not the style of fighting.
