I used to roll with a guy who would crank me in a can opener all the time, until I got a good tip on defending it - just let go of your closed guard and most of the pressure is gone.

I don't really respect the can opener as a submission for that reason. It's an alright way to open your opponent's guard, I guess, albeit kind of against etiquette in some gyms.

Another good counter is to let go of your guard, cup his elbow, under hook his leg, swivel your hips, and flower sweep his ass.

Highly opinionated but out of touch with the current MMA scene.

Favorite- kimuras, they feel so skillful when i get em

Best- Triangle, i like how the people that dont like to tap just go to limp mode right before they tap and you can pefect your technique while having them in alot of trouble already

worst- kneebars, skilled veterans can pull them off so clean it scares me.

you and me both buddy. I love the heel hook ankle lock its so devastating and i am good with it. However i hate to use it unless you really want to hurt someone. its dangerous and can cause major damage if your not careful just take a look at this.

Favorite submission: Flying Armbar - a bit flashy I guess but I've managed to pull this one off in my last 3 submission wrestling tournaments, each time in the first match. Sadly after that people know what you're going for and start being more careful hence why I would say it's a bit too flashy.

Best submission: Triangle - definitely worked out best for me in my fights. There's so many ways to set it up and I've really been having success in finishing with it almost every time I've had it even remotely tightly locked up.

Worst submission: Leg Locks - not because I wouldn't like them, but 'cause these are giving me the most trouble when it comes to defending submissions. It's really hard to defend everything when you're sparring or fighting against a good leg lock guy.

Excuse my bad english.

Favorite Submission: arm bar from side control ala matt hughes
Best Submission: arm triangle... seems like I can get this almost every time I spar someone
Worst Submission: triangle... Idk, I'm not that great at it. I also suck at triangle defense, although its getting much better.
