charging in

If some one is charging at you what is your best defense? Not including sprawling, its a street type scenerio.

A good knee to the chin seems to do the trick.

The best defense is to not be there.

When that doesn't work, I'm a big fan of Bas Rutten's kick to the groin. If he's shooting on me, knee him in the head and pound on him. I also learned this really cool arms crucifix takedown defense from an article on Bas Rutten. It's a cool takedown defense starting from underhooks ends with unlimited knees to the head and sternum. For those who want to know more, check out the august edition of Black Belt Mag (picked it up in an airport when I saw Bas on the cover).

Hmmm, I think Ive seen it in his big book of combat does it go like this?

He shoots in you have double underhooks, you throw him to a side and post out your feet and you can lean back and neck crank him?

When my fat-ass roommate in college got drunk and charged me, I'd wait until the last second, step to the side and push him to the ground. I'm sure it wouldn't work with a sober person weighing less than 300# but it's funny all the same.

Run or if your confident in your self defense, do some of that.

Or just a simple kick in the groin.

Kicking in the groin uis a terrible idea if they are charging in. Incredibly difficult to hit someone running at you with it, and even if you do it won't stop them in time and you will be off balance, you are going down.

A good old one-two. Set em up with a left jab, to stop em and put them off balance then follow it with a right cross.

Obviously you have some horrible accuracy if you can't hit a guy in the nuts who's charging at you.

So what if you go down, they just got nailed in the balls and won't be doing anything soon.

One-Two is a bad self-defense move unless your ******* huge.
