Well if you BJJ instructor is good, next class ask him or her to show you some takedowns. And I'm sure you will be presently surprised how many good effective takedowns they know. Also if you are just doing grappling ,getting a huge takedown ,is alot of the time, just a big waste of energy. Its much more practical to go for a effective and most important efficient way of taking the fight to the ground.

We do practice takedowns, but not everyday, like you do in wrestling.

all it takes is practice follow ALL DRILLS do what they say. dont slack off. and wrestle more then learning drills. in the beg you learn on your own. wrestling from bjj some say its easy to learn vice versa. for my friend it was but he had to unlearn a lot of stuff. so id say is just learn some wrestline moves and incorporate them into bjj. or vice versa
I already joined but it's really hard for me and the oother new seniors because the coach has us train with the experienced people. I enjoy that way better because I get to wrestle people who actually know what to do and I'm learning faster, but the cardio is a bit harder than most of the new guys go through. But I can handle it.

It seems like you're on the right track. Roll around with the best guys there.

When you drill, focus on your shot into a double leg and a single leg. You won't use many other wrestling takedowns in MMA.

You will fall into a clinch in MMA, but I've yet to see any wrestlers hit a fireman's carry in the UFC. Focus on your shot as much as you can. Be explosive with it. That will serve you well.

Also practice defending the shot with the same intensity. Learn to sprawl. Learn to sprawl. Learn to sprawl.

And then work on your shot and drill some sprawling...
