California Classic

Is anyone else going to this? This will be my first tournament, hope I don't get annihilated. I'll be in 16-17 age group, white belts, I'm not sure about the weight class yet.

I'll be going. Just no gi, though. It'll be my first tournament too. I'll be in the beginner adult division at heavyweight.

Good luck.

I don't have the money to enter so I'm just going to start fights in the parking lot. LOL

Just joking. Post your results. I'll try to send luck from the East Coast your way.

I'll post my results, even if it ends up being 0-1. Anyway I feel ****ed for this tournament because the weight class I should be in is 173 (including the weigh of the gi), but 2 weeks later I have to be in a wrestling tourny at 171 and I'm not sure if I'll be able to put that much weight back on. So I might have to go in to the BJJ tourny at a higher weight. I don't, maybe I'll cut the extra weight.

Well, I lost my first match by points (4-0). I spent almost the entire match either in the other guy's guard or in a traingle, but at least I didn't tap. And since it was single elimination, my first match ended up being my last. But most of the people from my school did really well.

Chalk it up as experience and your next outing will be better for it.
