I was told Green Belt has always been in the system, just not many people use it. I think it is about a 4 Stripe White Belt, they are just right on the ridge of getting a Blue Belt. That is what I was told, not sure how much truth it holds.

Ah, stripes. **** that shit that's for the instructor to make more money from you

My MMA gym only does Blue Belt and Purple Belt. You have to go to Brazil to get your Brown or Black

What rank is your head instructor?

My head instructor's a 3rd degree blackbelt, so I think the only rank he can't hand out is a blackbelt, which I know you have to go to Brazil to get. I'm just curious about how the upper echelon of the hierarchy works.

My instructor is 7th degree black belt does this mean he can hand out up to 6th degree? or only up to brown belt?

Wow I had no idea you had to go to Brazil to get a BB. That's really weird. My instructor is a 3rd degree and has awarded a BB. But maybe that was in Brazil.

I don't think you have to go to Brazil to receive a black belt. An example that comes to mind is that guy from TUF being Matt Serra's first black belt.

I have two instructors, one being brown belt, the other being black belt. I can only get up to brown from my black belt instructor, and only blue from the brown belt.
