heelhooks

so today i was sparring MMA with my training partner with light punches. majority of the fight is on the ground and it turns out to be like 10 minutes long

he tried locking in a heelhook (or anklelock idk) but i flexed my foot to fight it off..i keep resisting and my foot slowly turns, then i feel something weird in my right knee..luckily i escaped and put him in my guard..i think if it turned for afew more seconds my knee would have shattered

it didnt hurt afterwards and still doesnt hurt or whatever right now, i can walk fine and everything and i feel no pain but maybe its because it only happened afew hours ago?

will the pain come when i wake up in the morning?

can you please go into greater detail in what you felt. But by the sounds of it, it was really nothing.

This is why heel hooks are not allowed for people under white belts usually. Ankle, knee, and footlocks are very dangerous

The worst thing is the Japanese ref does the classic "Give up?!" After his leg is broken and Ken has let go.

Fav. Fighters
Wanderlei "The Axe Murderer" Silva
Antonio Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira
Ken "You got kicked. By a kick." Shamrock

yha the guy is screaming in pain with is leg turned around backword that is a sign that you need to stop the fight.

idiot should have taped out.

for me all ken would have to do is touch my ankle and I would already be tapping

There's a guy that outweighs me by 100 pounds (of muscle) at gym. He grabbed a hold of my leg once and I tapped before he could even lock anything down. He cranks submissions in practice and acts like he doesn't understand why he hurts people. I'd rather look like a baby than have my knee blown out.
