Submitting a much bigger person?

Whats the best submission to do on a larger person?

once in a while me and my cousin would grapple.
hes around 6'3 260lbs and im 5'5 about 160. I know he doesnt know anything about BJJ, and I never took BJJ classes yet but I guess I have basic knowledge on how to pull triangles, armbars etc. So what usually happens is he takes me down. I go for triangles but i barely can get my legs around him, so it isnt locked fully. He powers out of my armbars. So yeh eventually I get tried from doing all that and then he passes my guard and puts his weight on me till im done. so yeh I would like to submit him one of these times =)

Arm drag to back control to RNC ala Marcelo Garcia FTW

Taking the back as wukkadb suggested is a great way. Also, chokes are good. Try to get on top of him.

Is this for Gi or No Gi?

arm bars rarely work on larger people, they can easily pull out or pick you up and slam you, youd have to get them on there back and even then they could pull out

rear naked choke with hooks ftw against larger opponents

What you talking about? ofcoarse armbars work on big guys, especially if they have no experience with submission. Ive put a 380lb 6ft 6 guy in an armbar from guard and he tapped instantly.

To the thread starter, the reason you cant submit your cousin is because of your lack of skill. You've never been to a bjj gym or trained with any1 else. Once you get the hang of the armbar, you can do it on the biggest guys really quikly.

That doesn't prove anything, but ok? I agree that going for an arm bar from your back vs a bigger guy is not always the best idea since they can just pick you up and slam you on your head... and assuming this is a street fight or something, that's not a good idea. Look at the TUF fight, for instance

my point exactly, the only time i got a full fledge arm bar on someone, it was after a good 5-10 minutes of slams, mounts, sidecontrol defenses, if your going against a bigger opponent, you gotta wear them out before a arm lock, but the rear naked choke always works
