What do you guys think

I train in BJJ quite a lot, well in my spare time not training I love to look at other Martial Arts Scgools "Websites" and see how much different styles there are. I came across a website yesterday. Well anyway I was laughing for almost half an hour. Guys tell me what you think about this secret Ninjitsu training school. I got a kick out of this.

Funny find, Rex.

Honestly, I have alot of problems with these guys who list their profiles like this. Firstly, it looks like their dating profile, and they include things that are completely irrelevant to their ability as instructors. Things that make me think they have way too much to prove.

I don't care if my instructor is a pianist, or a graphic designer, or a horse inseminator. It has no bearing on his training and his ability to train.

Also, the way their credentials are listed bothers me.

They use the word "proficient," which can mean anything from a blackbelt rank to knowing what the martial art is and maybe having taken a few classes. I'm inclined to think the latter, because they don't state a rank.

I don't know what it takes to become a ninjutsu instructor, but these guys give me the feeling they may have certified themselves.

Even a brief analysis of the pictures tells me that these guys aren't as serious as martial artists as they want us to believe they are.

The guy on top is obviously a skinny guy (look at his right arm, both the way that his bicept looks and his forearm). While I don't doubt that there are skinny ninjas, I do doubt that he's a serious BJJ guy, or in Sambo or Muay Thai, with that level of muscle tone. Possible, but not particularly believable.

The bottom guy actually looks severely out of shape. The tone in his arms is not impressive and he's got some pudge (he tries to hide it with the black shirt, but doesn't do well with that). His stance leads me to believe that he's not serious, because he's in a kneeling position (something that no one ever takes in a hand to hand fight unless shooting). I'm just utterly unimpressed.

I know that this looks like a technical analysis of these guys, but I found the whole thing hilarious, and those are some of the reason's why.

I think it's bizarre that anyone would set up a website claiming to be a ninja, as the entire thing is a raping of the ninja philosophy. It reminds me of the good old days and Ron van Clief.

Proof that a blackbelt in BJJ is better than a hundred blackbelts in karate once that fight hits the ground.

Makes sense though think about how many times we have fought on a billboard. Iron man and Wallyworld how is the training going? I have nor wrote to you guys for a while? I am doing the Pancrase in Colorado on 3/15. My first tourney. Any advise. Anyway hope the training is going good.

My training's going well. Alot of time spent on my standup lately, but keeping up the grappling (as always, my strongsuit).

As far as advice, working on your endurance.

Personally, when I train for tournaments, even though I mostly do four man stuff, I train watching old school boxing title fights (12 rounds) and working out during the fighting, resting during the breaks. That works really well for my cardio.

Also, make sure that you have a gameplan going in, so that you know where you are comfortable and where you want to avoid. (also, how to get out of there if you get stuck)

If you've got any specific questions or want some specific stuff, post a thread, PM me or post a piece on my training log (I'll definitely be sure to get the last two).

I can't believe that people spend $300 to train two days with these guys.

going good. cutting weight this week, im hungry as hell. im competing this weekend at the arnolds.

biggest advice is work on cardio, and developing a solid game plan. take a note book and right down the stuff you do every day.
