This is my first piece with profighting-fans, and I'll be covering grappling for them for a while. Hopefully it'll be a good gig, as I like talking about grappling.
No. Not really interested in getting my ass kicked by Jeff Glover.
If you're not at least a brownbelt, and a seriously competitive brownbelt, it's probably a good idea to wait on the ADCC men's qualifiers, because most of the guys are blackbelts.
Performance of the day seems to go to Vinicius Magalhaes, who won his first match by heel hook and then shocked everybody by submitting Pe De Pano with a flying armbar in the second match.
Also, Marcelinho is tearing it up. Apparently he absolutely wrecked Kron Gracie in the second round with a front choke.
And Galvao had a war with Chris Weidman, who will be getting a lot of props from people.
Even though he lost miserably by the looks of it anyone else think its interesting that Ricco Rodriguez competed at under 218, especially with his talk of moving to LHW.
Rafael Mendes just established himself as one of the best grapplers in the world, too. Mendes is going to be a legend. To submit Leozinho at his age is ridiculous
Braulio is definitely a legend. Just beat Xande to win Absoluto.
Also, Vinny Magalhaes is a f*cking story, too. The guy posted two bronze medals in his first appearance at ADCC. Not to mention, he probably would have been a silver medal if the brackets had been built a little differently.
Man, Werdum finally takes it, the guy has placed high for a while but never managed to take it home. Good to see Monson put on a good showing taking third though, he needed something after that horrible showing in his last fight.
We would like to try to bring back what we started in early 2009. In doing so, all of the ADULT EXPERT/PROFESSIONAL Regional winners in New Jersey, Las Vegas, Houston, Grand Rapids and Seattle will have invites to the 2011 North American Trials to take place around March on the West Coast. To that list we will add the winners of the November 20th show in Dallas and maybe one or two more shows before March. To find out more about the Dallas show log on to www.WorldGrapplingCircuit.com
Also on November 20th is the ADCC North American Championships in New Jersey. The Professional Adult winners of this competition will bypass the 2011 Trials and automatically have slots in the 2011 ADCC Worlds. To find out more about that competition, log on tohttp://www.adccna.com/
We really hope for great new things from ADCC and look to make North America the strongest and largest ADCC Federation. A lot more information to follow.
Please also pass this to as many people as you can to get ADCC going strong again.
