Hey guys, I'm looking to watch more classic no-gi grappling matches, and I figured a thread where we could all share our favourite matches (with video links) would benefit everyone.

So here is a suggestion to kick-off the thread.

Xande Ribeiro vs Marcelo Garcia @ ADCC 2005:

Please contribute to this thread so that we can all enjoy these great matches that we may/may not have seen! :thumb02:

Hey IronMan, what happened to Brennan in his match with Garcia? Am I not seeing something?

Also, I don't understand why he simply let Marcelo step over and take his arm like that?.. He didn't really show too much resistance until he was already trapped in the armbar.

Marcelo hurt his ribs with the push off. You can see that both of his feet are under. It's a more advanced arm-break when the bicept slicer (my personal go to) is banned.

Marcelo trapped the arm, there's no out when the hook is that deep. Brennan was going to try and roll out, but you can't roll out of one of Marcelo's moves. It's not a valid escape.

Great posts guys, keep them coming.. these are awesome and I'm really picking up things from watching!

Why was Pe de Pano being a prick at the end? LOL @ Werdum waggling the finger at him during the pause. Great match, thanks for sharing that bbjd.:thumb02:

They say Rickson lines up Black Belts and beats them. Andre Galvao lines up black belts and ridicules them!

Seriously check this shit out! Galvao is the Gi BJJ overlord. It's like, screw Rickson Galvao is da man now! To anyone who said that Galvao is probably the one (along with Marcelo) who knows the most about competetive BJJ was so right.

The reason was appearently that the other guy went for an (illegal) heel hook. That pissed Galvao off and he started pwning.

Total "Eddie Bravo brownbelt > blackbelt" match. The Rubber guard is mainly used at the end. This is how the rubber guard should be used, ladies and gentlemen. (I think what Bollinger did at the end was called "sanitorium").

Good post Ironman. Hadnt seen that one yet. That was alot of action, more than I expected considering it was jiu jitsu not No-gi. I had a chance to watch both those guys in ADCC when it came to, Long Beach Ca. a couple years back. If anyone reading this has a chance to watch the ADCC's in person do it. It might sound Kinda dumb but watching all those greats will improve your game.
