What Would You Do?

My friend's and I wrestle now and again and try to submit each other, no striking, just throwing each other around and takedowns etc...

Anyway, what would you do if you had someone in a headlock like in this picture? (found it on google images, dunno who's in the pic lol but thats the position im describing)

Like, say a takedown, a choke, a submission, anything?

squeeze harder? lol

Personally, I figure that if someone tries for a head lock on me, they are asking me to:

1) Slam them on their head with a back suplex (if we are both standing).

-or-

2) If they haven't flattened me out for a full Bulldog Choke, I would roll them over my shoulder by stepping in between their legs and spinning into them. After taking them down, I would be in full side control or mount, in which case their arm is ripe for the picking.

Now if you are the one doing the headlock, what you do is flatten the other person out by stepping forward and dropping onto your butt (just like you're "Bulldogging" the person - thus the name). This way, they won't be able to lift or turn you once you are posted out. Once their, do what AtomDanger said and start squeezing. This should start a full-on carotid choke. If you really want to make them regret the fact that you got them, start wrenching back on their neck while you have them flat on their stomache. That should leave them with a good reminder that you got them for the next 3 days or so.

I would go for a Judo throw or a leg sweep. Trying to Slam somebody who has a headlock on you is nuts. What if you can't pick them up? It's much easier to use a sweeping or throwing techinque than to try and Slam a dude.
Besides, in a Slam you may even get hurt yourself if you're in a headlock.

I know that, and that's why I have more than one option up there. Look at option #2, and you'll see that I have that covered. ;)

Through my own personal experience: I've also put my buddies up in the air that out weigh me by 100lbs, but that's because I know how to throw them. When you suplex someone, you only need their body to leave the ground by 2 inches. Everything after that is technique. Infact, even the rolling them over your shoulder would be considered a suplex, as it would fall under Sutemi Waza - "sacrifice techniques." So no, a suplex isn't completely out of the question. In fact it may be one of the easier options.

I was talking about me having my friend in the headlock just to clear things up

I would use a judo throw to take it to the ground, use lots of hips. There's more than one way to skin a cat, though.

I thought that was the case. Look at the second part of my original reply, and that should cover your first option.

In that case, don't stay upright with the person as (according to what has been noted above) you can be thrown. First I would step forward (to bring their center of gravity away from them) and sit out to flatten them on their stomach. From there you can work a Bulldog choke or neck crank (even both at the same time). You also have these options from that position:

1) You can pull your hips around and take their back. From that position, you have a plethora of options to work with.

2) You can pull across side and secure their near arm with your legs for an armbar. In which case, you can work for the armbar while controlling their head. Or work a combination choke and armbar (think the "Crippler Crossface" and you will get a clear picture of what I'm talking about).

Now if you step forward and they step forward with you, you can secure their far arm and turn them over your hip to bring them down on their back in side control. With their arm secure you have a few options:

1) Step over with your far leg and secure a juji-gatame/cross armbar.

2) Secure their near arm with your legs and work either an armbar across your thigh, or an ude-garami (bent armlock/keylock) with your legs.

There are probably a few other options, but I think this is enough to work with. Let me know if you need clarification on any of the above.

You, sir, are amazing lol

I'll need to look up some pictures of what you are talking about but I kinda get the basic idea
