What position was the headlock from? If it is a standing headlock to one side all you have to do is put your arm around his upper back (your arm thats behind him) with your back foot stepin front of him for a trip and with your torso twist using your arm and torso he will fall right over your leg and you will end up in side control probably still in the headlock but he will be getting tired and you can easily work your way out. It will not fail, I used to show my friends that one all the time, learned it on a jujitsu self defence DVD a long time ago.
