Directory of "Grappling for MMA" Techniques

swpthleg and Fedor>All messaged me with an idea for a column on how to translate BJJ, judo and wrestling techniques into mixed martial arts moves.

I'll try and post pieces fairly regularly and I will index them here (because I don't want to sticky them all at the top, and this single thread is a good way to do it).

These pieces are going to be long and some of the basic ones, I imagine, will be fairly boring for those of you who have BJJ, judo or wrestling training, so I've italicize and bolded the stuff that's important for those who already know the moves.

If you have questions about the individual techniques, please post them in the technique's thread. I don't always feel the need to be organized, but I'll try to control what little I have.

If you have questions about the project itself (techniques you want me to do, questions about how to read stuff or where I get my information from), please feel free to PM me or post it in this thread.

Thanks very much for posting this IronMan. I have been/will be reading the threads with great interest and I know I'll learn a lot.

I'll be slapping fools with omaplatas and working the rubber guard in no time.

Hey bud, I was wondering if you could try to post pictures or videos to go along with the techniques. It would really help to follow along with the words, sometimes its hard to understandwhat you mean in writing and a picture or video would really clear the air.

Thanks, and great job

If I had a video camera, I would. Unfortunately, I don't have immediate access to a good camera (or, for that matter, the space and camera-man necessary to do a photo-based tutorial).
