harai goshi was the throw, not o guruma. he pulled the throw off his opponets force, not step into a non moving opponet.

Could be, he did not seem to have correct positioning for Harai Goshi.
I didn't watch it thoroughly and can't be bothered to as I really hate that movie.

yea the movie sucked, but it was a nice throw. i did not spend much time on it, i watched it once, but i saw him play off his opponets force, not set to his opponet for the throw.
now i wonder, what is the correct positioning for the harai?

The position of the leg when throwing, your are correct about the opponents force though.
From what I saw, as I said I looked very quickly it seemed it was way higher then I have seen Harai Goshi done. Like in the video is the position where I do it too.

It looked like Harai Goshi, but his leg seems too high, therefore I believe it's O Guruma. Maybe I should post this on a judo forum and see their opinion...

notice the tightness in the upper body, again.
the techincal name of the throw in the GIF is harai makikomi(sweeping wraparound) with an over the shoulder grip as in the 2nd GIF shown. vs the swimming through grip.
the throw is 99% the same as harai goshi, the only diffrence is the follow through, standing or impact control to land on him.

Would that mean that the throw in the movie is also harai makikomi?
