Oh, back mount. I don't like people in the backmount. That's not good.

I find that a good grappler can control you pretty well from the back mount, like when Diego Sanchez gets behind an opponent. It's hard to get rid of them, especially if it's non-gi grappling and you have no edi (rear collar) to grab.

The only suggestion I have for someone in a backmount, other than don't get into one, is keep the chin tucked and tight (the choke can still be applied, but not as easily) and buck. It wastes alot of energy, but it's a lot better than getting pounded, just ask Royce Gracie.

No, I was sort of thinking favorite competition subs. Maybe I'll start another thread on stree submissions.

my favorite subs:

1.kimura because it can come out of no where effectively in positions standing and on the ground

2.rnc because im great at getting people's backs rnc's are an effective submission from the backmount that you can use without giving up position

3.triangle because if you dont get it there are a variety of other submsisions you can apply depending on the defensive position of your opponents such as armbars and omoplata's

4.guillotine because its easy to score on a minor mistake, effective and can be applied standing or on the ground from the top or from the bottom without giving up much position and even good for distracting your opponent and getting up, defending a takedown or w/e

1.Kimura because u can really get it from everywhere

2.Omoplata it is so much fun getting ur leg up there and it leaves the other person pretty helplis

3.Triangle even tho ive havent got it that much it is really fast and gets them to tap

My advice:

Hold on to his foot like your life depends on it (because it might) or just let go and move for something else (like a leg lock).

Also, If you let his head pop out and spin for an armbar you may have a better chance at removing his core strength and his legs. On the other hand, you might be f*cked anyway.
