one tip: dont jump into a tourney unless your ready

Would have to agree, personally I over trained before my first(even at local) so I could perform my best, if I thought I was good... I wasn't good enough I would keep on training more.
But after a few months and if you really still want to compete see if there is anything local that is smaller scale that could help you. |
The thing I find real enjoyable about tournaments is the chance to roll with someone you've never seen before. When the ref. says go, you don't know if the guy is good at jits, wrestling, super strong, a cardio freak, etc..
On whether to go or not depends on your personnal attitude. The worst that can usually happen is you get creamed. Some people can deal with that emotionally, some can't. If you can deal with it, I'd say go for it. You'll get alot of experience. Tournaments are a blast, just be careful. If you get caught and are too stubborn, you can end up with a broken arm.. |
thanks guys. appreciate it

Check out the naga tournaments i just did my first a couple weeks ago and it was a great experience and they have all skill levels and weights. I can't wait to go to another.
