I have a question...

I am 14 years old, heading into 10th grade and I currently have summer practices for football beginning next week, the practices run Mondays and Wednesdays 6-80. My problem is that I currently attend a submission grappling class on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8 and my wrestling team has their practices at the same time as my grappling class. Do I continue my grappling classes or do I go to wrestling practice?

First off it depends what you want to learn from these classes and what you plan to use it for, competing and so on. Also which one do you feel like gives you more experience and you actually feel you take something away from it? Or just choose which one you like more.

High school wrestling programs can suck or they can be fantastic make you good at the ground game and get you in shape. Really no one can answer that truly for you as YOU have to end up making the decision on what you rather do and what you like more.

At 14, do what you like more.

If you like grappling, grapple. If you like wrestling, wrestle.

At that age, it's about building a base of skills and building athleticism. The best thing is to make sure that you're happy doing what you're doing. Worry less about a future career in MMA, and worry more about staying in the program that you like and working hard at it.
