Triangle choke off the sprawl?

I saw a youtube fight, maybe Japanese, where a guy triangled his opponent from the guys back (like opponent shot a single leg, guy sprawled, then just basically leaned over the guys back and cinched in a triangle)...anyone seen this or tried this??

sounds awesome, and do-able. it can be done from mount and rear mount, seems like i'd feel good pulling it off. haha

Yeah, Toby Imada. Fought on seasons 1 and 2 of Bellator. I have tried this in practice just for fun. But it is not a good idea IMO to do in an actual MMA fight. Imada can pull it of because he is a great submission artist.

That is an awesome finish. I didn't know a triangle was possible from a sprawl. If at all possible I figured it would be more likely from a guard pull rather than that crazy inverted triangle...this gives me ideas, thousands and thousands of ideas!

I don't think that Toby did either.

I've never tried it or drilled it, but I'm going to see if I can work on it on open mat time, from the knees and not standing though.

That was pretty sick. Those two KO's afterwards were pretty crazy as well.
