Danzan Ryu Jujitsu?

I just recently started training with a Danzan Ryu Dojo in Olympia WA. Anyone else practice Danzan? if so what are your thoughts on the style, why do you like it? What are its advantages?

maxtheripper has a little shameless behaviour in the past
never heard of it before but in my experience anything with the word jujitsu instead of juijitsu isnt to good i could be wrong this time

juijitsu is just the way you spel it that doesnt mean anything it al means the samething "The Gentle Art"

the spelling of Jiu-jitsu usually refers to brazilian jiu-jitsu while Jujutsu and Jujitsu both typically refer to the Japanese/traditional arts.

I haven't trained in Danzan Ryu, but all I know is it is a recent development in Jujutsu coming out of Hawaii. The place I wanted to take Judo at would've made me take 3 months of Danzan Ryu Jujutsu before they would even let me get on the mat and learn Judo. That isn't possible for me now (I'm away at school and I'd want to take it during the summer, so my whole summer would be jujutsu and I'd have to wait until winter to train in Judo.

Iv been going to classes for about a month now so I have learned a bunch more about its history. As you said ^ ^ ^ it translates to "Hawaiian style" as Danzan is the term Chinese people use for Hawaii. It was started by Prof. Henry Seishiro Okazaki and he named it with the Chinese word to honor his Chinese martial arts teacher Wo Chung. Seishiro died in 1951 without a successor so in 1952 an election by the American Jujitsu Institute was held and Sig Kufferath was selected.
