I've been doing MMA for a few weeks now and I have a grappling class. Well this person in my class got me into a kimura and start cranking pretty hard and iI think it messed up my should. Because everytime I throw a left hook theres a sharp shooting pain in the top/back of my arm.. I don't know if this is from the kimura or from something else but if anyone knows what it is can you please let me know? thank you.

I'm not a doc but a what causes pain/tap from a kimura is a stress placed on the ligaments and tendons that hold the shoulder structure together...if you crank on it hard enough those tendons can tear...rest it for a couple of weeks and if it's not trending better then go see an orthopedic doc, and send the bill to your sparring partner.

Best thing to do as everyone has said is seek medical help. This has become pretty common to sustain injuries while training and it is counterproductive. Grappling schools should focus on teaching "slow rolling" to prevent injuries. Also tap early if you get caught in a kimura dont let the other guy start cranking.
