Breaking down the Nick Diaz Armlock...

Just watched the Strikeforce card yesterday since I couldn't watch it live due to my wife's birthday weekend away.

Nice Arm lock by Diaz!

I decided to throw together a breakdown of how he did the armlock as they are a bunch of little details that make it work so well in MMA.

Nice breakdown. When watching the fight I was wondering why Santos jumped over Diaz when the latter pulled his ankle, instead of resisting and trying to keep his body tight to Diaz. And I think there was a split second when it would have been better for Santos not to grip his own wrist, but to pull at Diaz' elbow to slip his hand out.

However the execution looked nasty. The elbow was quite bent over at the time of the tap and I first thought that it might have been broken.
