I'm calling Fedor by submission in the 2nd. I think he's going to rock Sylvia, get on top, and submit him via kimura from side mount, same way he submitted Randlemann and Hunt. I don't really see Fedor being put on his back and even if he did I don't think Sylvia would get caught from that position.

Please dont compare this to the Schilt fight. Sammy had like the worst take down defense in the world back then. Tim is a totally different beast.
That said Im going with Fedor by sub as well. I almost want to pick Tim but Ive waited to damn long for Fedor to validate himself in the states and I dont see big Tim being able to hold off his take downs for long.

Maybe if Fedor had any trouble with Schilt or HMC, I would give Sylvia more than a slim chance of winning by a KO or a cut, but that's all he's got in this fight. Fedor is better in all aspects of MMA, besides having a long jab. Sylvia will get dominated in a way that we've never seen.
Fedor by round 2 armbar if it's a 5min round fight.

Man, Sylvia has a good TDD against people who shoot, Fedor DOES NOT shoot, he uses Judo and Sambo throws, and if he could bring HMC down (even if he ended on top of Fedor) he will do it to Sylvia too, and then he will rip Timmy's arm off.

Fedor Announces Fight With Sylvia is Official
Quote:
Fedor Emelianenko announced on Friday via his personal website that he has officially signed to fight Tim Sylvia on July 19 in the United States. MMAWeekly.com has since confirmed the bout with independent sources.
The announcement did not mention a specific show, but previous sources have indicated that it will be a promotion headed by clothing giant Affliction.
The news on his website also stated that Fedor has signed on for two more fights to take place later this year in October and December, although no particular opponent or organization was named for either fight.
The fight in December is set to take place in Japan on one of the New Year’s Eve shows, as Fedor plans on celebrating his sixth year in a row overseas.
This will be Fedor’s first fight since submitting Hong Man Choi at the Yarennoka event in Japan on New Year’s Even 2007, while Sylvia will face his first challenge since exiting the Ultimate Fighting Championship after being its champion on two separate occasions.

Will this be in a cage or a ring?
I think we all acknowledge that Tim has good TTD when his opponents shoot in for him. But what is different with Fedor is that he never shoots in without a combo of jabs. Watch any of his fights and he'll throw in a couple of jabs then throw his oppenent on the mat. I think this fight will go on the ground with Fedor submitting with some sort of leg lock or armbar.
