IFL The International Fight League is an American mixed martial arts promotion billed as the world's first MMA league. Instead of the established norm for MMA events, where matchups are strictly one-on-one affairs, each IFL card is a showdown between two camps of at least three fighters, each fighter fighting one match against another in the opposing camps. The IFL is currently televised in the United States on FSN / Fox Sports Net.

IFL hates ground work.
I don't know if it's been posted before but I was watching some IFL fights on TV and always after just a few seconds on the ground they stand them back up again. This is either really crappy directing or FSN is doing its signature time skipping through all the ground work.

I thought the same thing but they seemed to stand them right up faster than any other MMA show I've seen. I was literally less than 5 seconds.

The IFL wants to see fights get finished (mostly because that gets the most attention and they need the attention), but they only have 4 minute rounds, so the fighters have to be going the whole fight.
Frankly, the fighters in the IFL are not very good on the ground anyway, with a few exceptions.
When they have fighters like Joe Doerksen, who is a fantastic ground fighter, he keeps moving on the ground. He's always striking and working actively for position. If he is still in guard while striking they don't stand him up. I'm okay with that.
I know what you are talking about, when they look like they are just sitting and pretty much any avid MMA fan knows that they are working for position. The IFL doesn't want to see guys layngay for a round.
Have they stood a few fights up too quickly? Yes.
Is there a reason for it? Sure.
Should they stop doing it? I think so, I just hope the refs in the IFL think so.

The refs with more experience, Herb Dean, will let them jocky for postion. The crappy ones are the that do that.

I notieced the same thing, but like someone said it is for the attention. They are trying to draw in the croud and the croud won't come if its "boring", most people that arn't real MMA fans would rather watch people just slug it out. I personally though love a good ground game, but the IFL does not deliver that.

Yeah, but it seems like that's a good number of IFL referees right now. So we'll see how everything turns out.
