People have already been talking about Sperry on the site, and there has been talk about Freeman for a long time, but I wanted to add my input and give some of the official info.

When do the teams get announced?? im interested in seeing if there are any fellow Brits on Freemans team.

I'll keep checking the IFL website for updates, but I imagine the official announcement, including the team name and a basic starting roster will be announced at a press conference during the Grand Prix, probably during either the semi-final or final round of the competition.

Thanks for the info. I think that the IFL is now going to be on British TV (I only get to see it when I am working stateside). Should be good, the more MMA we can get on TV over here the better!

Yeah, I hope some of the UK fans get into it, because they're hurting a little bit stateside right now, and a good foothold in the European market would give them a serious opportunity to expand.

It doesn't affect us much out here, but I do know that the expansion of teams will be good for the organization on the whole and make for a more serious competition.

If the organization could expand out into other countries that will help the sport and help out the organzation. Which in return will help out the fighters so they can be paid better.

MMA is a very international sport and I think IFL realizes that. I agree with you all in saying that expanding and gaining a foothold in Europe is a good idea and they will gain a fan base that will hopefully extend elsewhere.
